Senior DevOps & Web Software Engineer / Developer (C# ASP.NET, Cambridge)

Whatever your background, whether you started your career with formal higher education, graduated from an apprentice programme, or are a self-taught coder, you will need to show evidence of having created and delivered a range of software solutions, with concepts or problems which your work successfully proved or resolved.

The technology stack you'll be working with is .NET MVC, SQL Server, Azure Iaas & PaaS, CSS & HTML, Angular, Bootstrap, JavaScript, jQuery, TDD, Jira, SVN, Octopus CI, SSRS, SSIS.


• Development of new services and applications according to business and customer requirements
• Assessing and understanding user stories and coding tasks
• Designing, developing and coding new features, applications, upgrades and bug fixes to high quality standards and customer expectations
• Support of existing customer websites and technology-enabled services
• Estimating Agile user stories and tasks and proposing technical solutions
• Progressing tasks and coding deliverables to completion
• Designing and coding high-quality, readable and maintainable Unit Tests to ensure maintainability, confidence and testability of changes
• Taking part in code reviews and collaborate with other developers
• Proactively grow your professional capabilities and those of the team


• NET development experience in a commercial environment
• Relevant degree or equivalent experience and qualifications
• Able to communicate clearly with team members and colleagues
• Able to successfully collaborate on tasks with team members
• Able to communicate clearly with team members and colleagues
• Able to accurately estimate stories and tasks to inform sprint and epic planning
• Capable problem solver and solution designer
• Knowledge of web application security and best practices
• NET MVC, C#, .NET 4.x Framework, SQL Server / T-SQL, LINQ, AJAX
• Good understanding of programming fundamentals; algorithms, data structures, OO / OOP
• Web technologies including JavaScript, CSS, HTML
• SQL Server and T-SQL
• TDD & Unit Testing; an understanding of TDD, ability to write and run unit tests
• Source control tools (SVN, GitHub)
