Cost effective & intuitive benefits
Regina McEvoy, UK Benefits Manager is responsible for creating and delivering a benefits scheme that complements Thomson Reuters’ brand values and employee demographic now and in the future.
“When it came to selecting a platform for delivering our childcare vouchers, cycle to work and eyecare vouchers, having a partner that knew how to deliver these schemes in a business like ours was essential” said Regina.
The brief was straight forward; to introduce a cost effective, intuitive experience for employees to choose childcare vouchers, cycle to work and eyecare vouchers , without the unnecessary cost and complexity. The scheme had to be easy to administer and employees had to be able to access their options on any device and make their choices quickly.
Over 900 Employees Opted for Cycle to Work
Previously, employees could take a loan from the company to purchase a bike however the process was manual and complex to adopt so take up was relatively low. Since launching the scheme on the You at Work benefits platform, over 150 bikes each year are provided via two enrolment windows. Over 900 employees have taken advantage of the tax efficient way of purchasing a bike so far.
“Cycle to work is a great example of a benefit that our employees really want, delivered and administered successfully. Employees can access the portal on the move when they want to, and do just that. The feedback has been very positive” said Regina.
High adoption has been driven by regular communication using posters around the office, email, and the company intranet where employees can set up a feed directly into their inbox for the latest benefits news. But this is only part of the story. Regina wanted a platform that took away the administration headache and that could be managed easy. Being able to generate reports on registration and benefit uptake means the team can manage communication to employees more effectively and continually evolve the offerings in line with the business and workforce needs.
